Newsletter 15

16th December 2008

Welcome to the latest ride newsletter! Normally, there is nothing to report this time of the year; frosty winter rides and lots of layers are the only things that are happening.

Not this time! There is plenty to report- or remind you of- so let's get going!

This issue

- 2009 ride

- Launch Party

- Tour de France winner to ride the 2009 event?

- Funds to come in

- New look website

2009 ride

It's is just SO frustrating- there is SO much I want to tell you. I want to tell you about the route, the afternoon coffee stop (you will be talking about it for months to come); the last 12 miles along side the, well, you will see; Oh- the start! the start is amazing!; how we have listened to the feedback from the 2008 ride, and kept in, again, you will see; and the end- it will be a big party!

I want to tell you, but i can't. It seems like we have already spent more man hours (40+ already) on this ride than any other. Those who know me will confirm that I am rubbish at keeping secrets; so please, make sure you come along to the Launch Party!

Launch Party

The launch party will again be at The Aggi, in Braunton, on Saturday 31st January, 2009, starting at 7pm. There will be the ride presentation, when I can FINALLY talk about the 2009 ride, also the tops to buy; you can also buy us a pint and sign up for the ride!

This year, we are also seeking to have a band as well to end the evening with a bit of live music. Also, as it is a Saturday night, there will be no work the next day! Once again, it is a family night, so bring the children!

We look forwards to seeing you there!

Tour de France winner to ride the 2009 event?

Can it be- isn't that- no, it can't be- IT IS! IT IS CARLOS SASTRE!

OK, it is not actually him; but it is someone with THE ACTUAL TOP HE WORE WHILST CLIMBING THE ALPHE D'HEUX TO WIN THE TOUR!

No way! Top bloke Andy Unstead has the scope of the year, and has secured for auction the actual top Carlos wore on that day (hopefully, washed). The funds raised will of course go to charity. To find out more, contact Andy on andy@just-office.co.uk or on 07710 658680.

Funds to come

If you have received an email from those great folk at The Hospice, then you still owe money! Don't forget, the terms were to raise MINIMUM of £50 sponsorship for the charity; it does seem that raising it was the easy part, the hard part was getting it in there!

Seriously, last call for funds- it would be a shame if thhere were people who don't pay. Also, the extra funds will be greatly needed by this most worthy of causes. Thank you.

New Look Website

If you have not seen it- check it out! Next year will see videos and more ride information, with weekly updates from the launch party to the ride date. Let me know what you think- if there is anything you want to see on there, click 'reply' to this email!

All that remains is to wish you all a happy holiday season, and we really do look forwards to seeing you on Saturday January 31st at 7pm!

Happy riding!

Simon and the event organisers.
