Confirmation of the route
As announced at the Launch Party, we are proud to announce this year's route will be Woolacombe to Dawlish Warren.
It's a great route which we are very excited about, and know that you will enjoy riding it.
The start is one of the most iconic places in North Devon- outside the Red Barn. A swift climb out of the town will see the two groups split, and be rejoined again at our mid morning spot, Libbaton Golf Club. After the feedback from the 2008 ride, we knew we had to go back there.
The 2 groups ride together to the lunch stop , once again at the great and successful North Tawton Rugby Club location. From here, the Z group goes one way, and the D goes the other- meeting on the Quay, Exeter for the afternoon coffee stop.
This is the first time that we are taking the route through Exeter, and is already proving a logistical challenge. Both groups will ride for approx. a mile alongside the canal- a great way to spend a Sunday! We know that the afternoon stop will be a relaxing and sociable pause on Exeter's historic quay.
The two groups once again merge for the last leg into Dawlish Warren, where James Chapple will be welcoming us all with his road show.
It's a great route, with some great challenges (especially the Z route!), and we do know that it will build on our track record of great rides across the county.
Media Page
In a fit of potential madness, we have developed a media page which we will be adding to as time goes on.
First up are links to the recording of the Presentation; yes, now you can relive not only Simon saying 'tonight', 'excited' and 'umm' alot, but also, yes, the now famous beer glass incident.
To reach the page, click the big link from the home page.

Entry to the ride is now available, via the eBay auction.
This will enable you place to be allocated straight away- just as well, as to enable sensible growth of the ride, we are limiting this year's ride to 200 riders, with 175 places for sale on eBay. (There is also a manual entry system available via the website, offering the remaining 25 places).
So be quick- you have been warned!
Website updates
Lots of updates, with comprehensive route details, links to the sign up and media pages, and as always, the popular guest book. The website is being updated on a daily basis, so keep your eyes open for the latest.
Facebook and Twitter groups
To grow the ride community, we have launched a Face Book group ('Devon Coast to Coast Challenge'), and also a Twitter account ('devonc2cc'). By following the twitter account, we will push the latest news straight to your twitter client. Both are free- why not join today?
So, a lot is happening. We are looking to do a route reckie over the next few weeks, so look out for video of the ride soon on the media page.
And do not forget the competition- to have a photo taken at the strangest/ funniest/ rudest place you can of your Devon Coast to Coast Challenge cycling top. Have you seen the snow man on the home page?
See you soon- happy riding!
