It gives us great pleasure and pride to announce that the 2009 ride raised an astounding £26,435.65.
Amazing!
On behalf of us, and all at The North Devon Hospice, we would like to say say Thank You!
It is going to be interesting what 2010 brings…...
- 2010 route announced
As announced at the great Launch Party on Sunday 28th February, at Buddy's Bar, Barnstaple, the 2010 route will be
PLYMOUTH to BARNSTAPLE.
We are incredibly excited about this route. It is the first time we are able to bring the route south to north, and will give us some great- and challenging stretch's of road and trail to ride on. The D route will once again be approx. 100km, and the Z route will again be approx. 100 miles for those who really like a challenge.
For more details of the route, check out the website!
- Register now!
We have increased the number of places available on this years ride by 50% to 350 riders- but they are going FAST! At the time of writing this, over 50 have gone in the first few days, with the sign up rate increasing each day.
If you would like to ride- sign up quickly- whilst you still can!
To sign up, visit http://www.coast-coast.co.uk/2010%20Registration.html
- Justgiving
For those of you who prefer to fundraise on-line via your own Just Giving page (www.justgiving.com for the as yet, uninitiated) I have set up Devon Coast to Coast Challenge as an event to make it easier for you to link too. Once your page is up and running you can send the URL to friends and family internationally and they tend to be far more generous with donations as they pay direct from credit/debit card through the safe site. They can also leave you good luck messages/or 'abuse' as they see fit! The site also sorts out all the confusing Gift Aid (25 pence in every pound you are sponsored, providing your sponsor is a UK tax payer. Money comes back from the tax man at no extra cost to you or your sponsors. Happy days!) for you. For those you are relying on the downloadable sponsor sheets - make sure you get full address details for all your sponsors and that they tick the Gift Aid box if applicable. Over £2,000 was raised through gift aid at last year's event and that could easily double this year if you are vigilant!
- Get those posters out there
Our posters themselves have a great following, and this year is no different. Those amazing folk at Salad Designs have put it together- and it looks brilliant!
Once more, it is available to download NOW on the website. We are encouraging ALL riders to print it off and pop up at work, or their local coffee shop, and will give us all a great way to spread the word.
What are you waiting for- print it off now!
- Any Questions?
A new fetter on the website is the 'any questions?' box, which allows you to ask, well, any questions (should have thought that sentence through before I started, really).
Basically, if you are unsure, ask away- so we can all gain.
Go on- you now you want to!
- 2010 Transport to the start
As we always try to support the riders as much as we can, this year will be no different.
Support this year will be in the form of a coach from barnstaple to the start. Leaving (expected) 6am at the North Devon Leisure Centre car park, our lift will take the riders and their bikes down to the start.
But- again- places are limited. They will go on sale via the website and bay from 1st April 2010, at as always, cost price.
One change this year- due to the logistics, the coach places will end at the end of May to allow for us to fully set it up. If you have not got a place by then- too late!
Keep your eyes on the site for more details!
Phew! I need to sit down after all that!
Main thing- if you are going to ride this year, SIGN UP NOW- whilst you still can.
Looking forwards to riding with you in June.
Simon, Sean, Mark, Ian and Emma

If you are receiving this email it is because you have either signed up for it, or have previously rode the Devon Coast to Coast Challenge. If you like it, forward it on to some friends, and get them to ride. If you don't like it, and received it in error, we are sorry; but why not forward it to some friends so some good can come of the error? You know, like Karma, and all that?
